The U.K. urban soul act Damage was a fresh addition to music during the new millennium's hurrah of fluffy dance-pop. A solid group of mates since childhood -- Andre, Rashaan, Jade, Noel, and Coree -- set to mix British garage with R&B. Singles such as "Ghetto Romance" and "Still Be Lovin' You" were cult favorites among the club scene while the band became prominent for slagging fellow competitors -- A1 and Craig David -- and the corporate ethics of the music industry. Such tabloid gossip wasn't that far from the band, however. The romantic relationship between Jade Jones and Baby Spice Emma Bunton undoubtedly worked for Damage's popularity. Since You've Been Gone marked their proper debut in Europe, issued on EMI in April 2001. ~ MacKenzie Wilson, All Music Guide
