When I run away again I know that I will have fixed all of the glitches in my plan. I'll knot my sheets into a rope And wake my sister with the rations in our bag. And in the forest all the kids will, lying still, lie in hiding for us. And on my signal they will rise and join us. And we will start to build And we will all have big tree houses. The branches grown around us Will disguise us with the morning breaks. And when there are no crumbs left In the bottoms of our pouches We will have to hunt and it will freak us out But there you are: We are carnivores. And if we're gonna fight with our father's weapons. We gotta always know what we're fighting for. If ever as your leader I am tempted to betray you, I pray that God will strike me down Before I ever make my move. And if we're gonna fight with our father's weapons. We gotta always know what we're fighting for. And when the grownups gather 'round With lots of toys and chocolate milk The little ones will start to cry And we will send them back inside. The grownups see our deep resolve They threaten us, they pull out saws. We start to climb from limb to limb The motors whir, the teeth dig in. But we will not be swayed. We will not be swayed. And up in the tree tops The sun beckons us to it.
