Tony Norwell - Your Secret lyrics

You kept your secret deep inside – All the while we laughed and cried. You never let me see that part of you; And all the while we carried on As though nothing could be ever wrong – You played your part so well I never knew. When first we met you seized my mind – And stayed there for what seemed all the time – And I tried to give you all I thought I had. But now I see you kept from me – So much you thought I shouldn’t see – So much you thought that I would see as bad. If only we had talked some more – Just like real friends are for – Before so much we had was gone for good. We could have tried to work things out – Of that I didn’t have a doubt – ‘Cos talking well is what we always could. I tried in every way I knew – To understand both me and you – In the hope that we would always be; Yet as the rolling years pa**ed by – Things got worse the more we cried; There was more and more that I just couldn’t see. I often wonder why it was – That others told me much because – I suppose that I must have been half blind. But looking back there’s now so much - I know we shouldn’t ever touch. That should have stayed right out of sight and mind. *** Thanks Tony Norwell for these lyrics
