Tavaris Scott - Week 8 Reading Journal lyrics

9.30.13 In the book "Into The Wild" Mr. Gallien and Alex looked at the rising sun from the forested ridges above the Tanana River. Alex was look at the landscape as if it was a perfect view. Mr.Gallien started to wonder if picked up a crackpot from the people who go to alaska to live out ill minded fantasies. It says that Alaska has long been a place for misfits and outsiders who try to find themselves and patch up the holes of their lives. 10.1.13 Mr.Gallien was looking at a magazine for Alaska's advertisment and was thinking that it wasn't all what people who wanted to creae a life for themselves thought. He said it is extremely hard, the rivers are very big and fast and the misquitoes eat you alive, plus their are barely any game to hunt, therefore living is no picnic in Alaska 10.2.13 Alex told Mr. Gallien that the only food he had was a ten-pound bag of rice. Plus his boots weren't fit for the Alaskan wild, neither was his gun considering a .22 caliber was only good enough to k** small game and not moose and caribou. They were both about 100 miles outside of Fairbanks entering the highway into the Alska Range. 10.3.13 Alex seen a current from the Nenana River and it reminded him of what happened two years ago in Mexico. he was riding in a canoe and a large storm hit while he was in the ocean and he almost drowned. Then he showed Mr. Gallien a side round called the Stampede Trail on his map, but they realized it wasn't shown on other maps. 10.4.13 After looking at the map Alex told Mr. Gallien that he wanted to be dropped off north of Mt.Mckinley. Mr Gallien tried to convince Alex out of going there saying that hunting in that area is not easy and he could days without k**ing any game. He even tried to scare him with bear stories. Alex seemed not to be fazed not even a little by the stories of Mr. Gallien.
