Sick Shift first gathered in 1996 in Santa Barbara, CA, determined to hunt for unused strains of fixed punk rock. Maintaining constant figures of a raving style, with drifting appearances of hardcore punk and punk-pop notes, Shift's empowering tunes swiftly conquered a considerable following. Undergoing multiple changes along the way, Shift ultimately ensured a constant lineup with Jeff Feuerhaken (vocals, guitar), Dan Simon (guitar), ba**ist Gary Braun, and drummer Ricky Rhiger. Imposing unrivaled show commands at driving live performances in their surroundings, Shift gradually prepared for the release of their first disc. Securing the work of producer Angus Cooke, who previously worked with Ataris, the Californians finally released their self-released debut full-length, Angry Badgers, in 1999.
