Rigoni-Schoenherz - Victor's Dream lyrics

Here at the end of the world chained to silence and meditation pursued by memories I'm searching for peace in vain. Prayer, discipline, and renunciation are the walls which should protect me. Slowly my will commits suicide and queen turned out to be who*e; fate stretches out its gentle hands for me. I would have embraced her I would have loved her I would have lived with this who*e if there wouldn't have come a dream over me on night like a giant black eagle. It carried me soaring through the sky across high mountains and deep oceans and on a hill it set me free. As far as I could see I was alone beneath the sky. Surrounded by dark woods mighty cascades and endless prairies I set out on my way. I pa**ed through this magnificent land and met the Red Indians they spoke to me: "This land is still free of the white man and all his epedemics; it is still free of his ambition free of his madness and we live here like our red fathers. We hunt the buffalo with bow and arrow during the summer our teepees stand near the cool woods beside the waters of the snow capped mountains. During the winter we're moving southwards and nature gives us all we need. If you would like to live with us you are welcome." I walked with them through the wide land and watched with calm mind the trees and the river the eagle in the lightblue air the trout in the clear water and we were as one. I danced in the sun warmed myself by the fire and listened to a woman's tune.
