Rakim Hasheem Allen (born December 9, 1991), better known by his stage name PnB Rock, is an American rapper and singer from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is best known for his 2016 single "Selfish", which peaked at number 51 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Early life Rakim was born on December 9, 1991, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He grew up listening to Tupac Shakur and Jodeci. At age 13, Rakim was sent to a youth detention program for commited robberies and fighting in school. When he turned 19, he was sentenced to 33 months in prison for drug possession and other crimes. Career PnB Rock released his debut mixtape titled "Real N*gga Bangaz" on June 24, 2014. He wrote the mixtape while he was locked up. In early 2015, PnB signed a record deal with Atlantic Records and released his debut mixtape from the label, RnB 3. In June 2016, he released the hit single "Selfish", which peaked at number 51 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. In October 2016, Rolling Stone included him in their list of "10 New Artists You Need to Know". His debut studio album GTTM: Goin Thru the Motions, was released on January 13, 2017 by Atlantic Records and Empire Distribution. Personal life PnB has a daughter.
