Patsy Del Carmen - Monomyth Essay lyrics

In most Epic Movies there's always a specific role in which the hero goes through, which is called an Epic Hero Monomyth. The epic hero Monomyth is an important role into today's world because in most epic movies like Luke from Star Wars, he goes through a journey where he makes the movie more thrilling and interesting. Luke sky walker started off as someone young and was naïve but also a very normal teenager. In the story his uncle tells Luke to go clean the robots and Luke becomes bratty and starts to wine. As he tells his uncle that he wants to hang out with his friends, his uncle tells him no until you finish cleaning the robots. Then Luke tells him fine I will since I have nothing else to do, and leaves. Later on through the story Luke takes R2-D2 and C-3PO and buys them. Therefore R2-D2 gets hit by accident and then this video appears, as Luke watches Princess Leia beg for help from Obi-wan -Kenobi. He immediately goes and try's to find more information about the video. Then later throughout the story Luke faces a huge crisis, Between Dark Vader and Obi-wan Kenobi. As Dark Vader tells Obi Kenobi that he's going to win the fight. Obi wan Kenobi got distracted and got sliced in half by Dark Vader. Luke witnessed the d**h of he's mentor which lead him to be more confident to the point where he can do anything. Luke later destroys the d**h star and this got rid of Dark Vader to fly off to space. Then at the end he gets more mature, and he finally realized that it feels good to do something really good for his team. In the Maze runner the main character Thomas starts off being a normal teenager. He was also naïve he never listened and wanted to do anything. This leads off to be a status quo because at the beginning he was normal teenager until he got the call to adventure. Once Thomas woke up he had people opening the doors to another world. This was somewhat a farm that was near a maze and had walls surrounding all of them. He later had a mentor that helped him figure out some of the things that he didn't know. Like the people there and what the place was, this might also have lead him to the a**istance stage. As Thomas departures he runs in the maze without having no training but he goes in to help he's friends that were hurt from the monster that k**s them. As they hear the evil monster coming their way. Thomas gives a distraction to the point where the monster got k**ed by the moving maze walls. This was definitely the crisis stage. As for the result for k**ing the monster they got even further in the mazes which lead them to the ending which got them out. And as for their new life Thomas gets everybody out and they all leave into helicopters. And as for the resolution they find out the world had a destruction that lead to war. And we believe that they may have a second movie that leads to them being in a different but more difficult world. Alright so now that I have finished the explaining about the heroes, let's argue about which Hero is better? Alright so in Star Wars Luke k**s the d**h Star which makes Dark Vader spin into space. And gets rid of all he's evil plans and the rebel side wins, and as for Luke he saved Princess Leia and all of their Territory, but in the movie The Maze Runner Thomas saves everyone from being stuck in a little farm and gets everyone out to their normal lives. Even though Thomas was naïve he still got everyone out and into safety and he really did he's best to get them out. So I believe that Luke from Star Wars is the best hero because he went through a lot and he even destroyed the d**h star in which Dark Vader was the head of it. But he also made Dark Vader spin into space. Luke was a naïve teenager but he saved tons and tons of lives. And as for Thomas he only saved a couple of people because a lot of them lost their lives in the maze for attempting to leave the farm and go on to their normal lives again. So I believe the Luke is the winner for this round. Why is the hero monomyth so important in today's world? Well haven't you notice that in most epic movies there's always a specific journey that the main character goes through and there's about 12 stages a character goes through. Which makes the plot more interesting.
