San Diego's Off By One jumped the punk revival bandwagon in 2000, aiming to make a place for themselves among the TRL tainted audience dominated by dance-pop . Comprised of Marc Gould (vocals), Jon Bishop (guitar), Jordan Brownwood (ba**) and Trevor Easter (drums), Off By One was surrounded by music from an early age. By their late teens, they formed a band and aimed for a glossy rock sound. LMC Records offered the boys a deal; in summer 2002, Off By One released their debut album.
