Luke Skywalker fulfills the epic hero mono myth by treasure, call to adventure, a**istance and crisis. Luke Skywalker was a legendary war hero and Jedi who helped defeat the empire and civil war. Luke is a universal character. Born in 19 BBY as the son of the fallen Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and the Queen and Senator of Naboo, Padmé Amidala, Luke was raised on Tatooine and hidden from Emperor Palpatine and his father, who had recently become Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Sith. In 0 BBY, Skywalker's life changed forever. A chance purchase of two droids, R2-D2 and C-3PO, led to him to receive training in the ways of the Force from Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and to meet Han Solo, and Princess Leia Organa, who was, unknown to him, his twin sister. Skywalker then destroyed the first d**h Star and joined the Rebel Alliance. Luke fulfills treasure when he destroys the d**h star. At first Luke was living a normal life on the farm. He was called to adventure when he received a message from princess Leia. Luke receives help from Obi-Wan and he rescues from sand people and teaches Luke about force, but one day Obi-Wan was k**ed and Luke was devastated. The mono myth of spider man starts out like any other with status quo. In the beginning spider man was known as Peter Parker who was a normal high school student with no powers. Refusal of the Call In the beginning, Peter Parker uses his powers for his own personal gain. He ignores the idea that his uncle brought onto him, claiming that, "With great power, comes great responsibility." It is only until Uncle Ben dies from a burglar that Peter takes his Uncle's advice and adopts the style of Spider-Man. Supernatural Aid Peter's aid comes from the man who raised him, his Uncle Ben. Spiderman monomyth departure call to adventure when Peter Parker is first bitten by a radioactive spider and granted superpowers. The Crossing of the First Threshold Peter Parker goes after the burglar who had k**ed his Uncle Ben. The Belly of the Whale The wrestler Spiderman suddenly transforms into the superhero Spiderman and discovers that he could have prevented Uncle Ben's d**h. Peter's a**istant is Gwen. She supports peter and some ways. Spider-Man faces his mentor. His mentor turns into an evil lizard who wants to “help” the world by turning everyone like him to have the regeneration ability. Spider man was completely beaten so Gwen starts to help him. Spider-man defeats the green lizard because Gwen created an antidote and she gave it to him and peter put in the machine that spread the formula to turn everyone to a lizard and the green lizard it imprisoned. I feel Spider man is a better hero than Luke. Luke can have his speed boosted to superhuman levels by the Force. During his fight with Guri, a human replica droid that is much stronger and faster than humans, the Force allowed Luke to move so fast it seemed like Guri was in slow motion. So, speed-wise, I'd say Luke can't hurt Spiderman. Strength-wise, though, Spiderman is better. I believe Spiderman is strong, in that he can lift ten tons. In contrast, Luke's never shown any real signs of strength. So Spiderman can basically take every punch Luke throws, regardless of how fast they are, and then knock Luke out with one punch. Even with boosted strength Luke's dropping in a few hits and won't be hurting Spiderman much with his best shots. But Luke's at least able to damage him and since he's a couple times faster I could see Luke winning maybe 2/10. Spiderman doesn't even have to use powers, if he hits Luke once with a punch he'll be damaged. Who do you feel is a better hero?
