Mexican-descendant singer Myra had her breakthrough while opening for teen pop sensation Aaron Carter in February 2001 after getting her version of cla**ic "Dancing in the Street" featured on the animated Recess: School's Out. Myra was born and raised in the U.S., proud of her Latin heritage. She grew up listening to Mexican traditional and dance-pop music and recorded her debut album at the age of 15, which featured the song "Miracles Happen (When You Believe)" from the Princess Diaries movie soundtrack.
