The Genesis and Greek creation stories are both similar and different in how they use literary archetypes. Both the Greek and Genesis creation stories utilize the villain archetype. Cronus he became the next ruler and everybody was afraid of what he have done to his family, “Cronus swallowed each of his children as they were born” (Greek Myth). This quote conveys that Cronus is filling the role of the villain archetype. Also it proves that his lust power is so great that he selfishly sacrifices his own children to keep the throne. For the Genesis story there was a villain who tried to put an innocence woman in trouble. For example, “the serpent told the woman, you won't die. God knows that the moment you eat from that tree, you'll see what's really going on. You'll be just like God, knowing everything, ranging all the way from good to evil” (Genesis). This line describing that serpent was the villain. He convince the innocence woman to eat that fruit that she shouldn't supposed to eat and he made her think that if she eats that fruit noting is going to happen. Therefore, these examples are showing both stories using the villain archetype. However, the Greek and genesis creation stories also contrast with the former having an epic battle or father / son and the latter a garden archetype. In Greek story there is a father who k**ed his children for instance, “this Cronus swallowed each of his children as they were born” (Greek Myth). This is an example of father revelry who was an antagonist person. Cronus he didn't want to hand over his power to his child that's why he k**ed his children after they born. But in genesis story the god made paradise where all those beautiful things found for example, “he named sky the heavens” (Greek Myth). This line describing paradise because heaven is the sign of peaceful. God made this heaven for those people who do the right things and deserve to go there. Nevertheless as you can see difference between Greek Myth and Genesis there's no paradise in Greek myth and there's no father/son rivalry in Genesis story.
