Option #2-→ Write a scene which a character gets what he or she wants. Morgan McCashland Experiment #5 • It had been a week since she had seen him. With in that week she had gone through a whirl wind of emotions she never thought she'd ever have to experience. At the beginning of the semester her life was perfect, she had started school at UVLA (her dream college), her family was supportive from a distance, and her boyfriend was the star baseball player. I know, I know it sounds cliché but everything in her life was flawless. She kept up her instagram account perfectly. Taking pictures with all her new favorite spots on the forest filled campus, with “date night” post almost every week with her smart, athletic, and overly charming boyfriend. Summer had it all until last Sunday when her world shattered faster than a pulling a trigger from a gun. • She walked into the local dingy bar on campus that was known for always serving minors. Summer didn't like to drink but she wanted to feel anything than numbness that took over her mind 24 hours a day. She stumbled into the door, bracing her shoulder against the bouncer as she tried to make her way inside. He grabbed her waist trying to steady her but she had already pushed back and forced herself through the door. That's when she saw him, how pathetic did she have to look in this moment. She felt the bottom of her throat grow with what had to have been the four tequila shots she took while pre-gamming. The heat in her stomach reminded her she wasn't used to this and her body was rejecting the new liquid like a river pushing water over banks after a heavy rain. • “Oh my god, Ryan is that your ex-girlfriend,” Summer distinctly heard as she tried to pull her body weight up against the gravity onto the foam exposed bar stool. She sat down grabbed a shot that was placed in front of the person beside her and took it down. The liquid stung like nail polish remover as it hit every taste bud in her mouth. Summer looked ghostly at the girl that clung to her ex boyfriend and faintly whispered “damn right it is.” That was the last thing she remembered that night. The look on the girls face who clinged to her ex boyfriends shoulders was unmistakable, she took everything Summer ever wanted.
