Mireya alvarado - Genesis and Greek creation stories similarities and differences lyrics

The genesis and Greek creation stores are both similar and different in how they use literary archetypes. Both the Greek and genesis creation stories utilize the villain archetype. The villain in the Greek myth was Cronus, “Cronus swallowed each of his children as they were born.” Proving his lust for power was so much larger than the love he had for his own children .In the Genesis story the villain was not an actual person, it was a serpent. “You won't die. God knows that the moment you eat from the tree, you'll be just like god, knowing everything, ranging all the way from good to evil.” The serpent knew god was only trying to protect them, but she wanted Adam and eve to disobey god so he could get upset with them for not listening and trusting god himself. These examples show both stories using the villain archetype. The Greek and genesis stories also contrast, with the former having an epic battle or father/son and the latter a garden archetype. The genesis garden archetype would be “swarm, ocean, with fish and all sea life! Birds, fly through the sky over earth!” describing a beautiful, peaceful, paradise, large and very calm. Unlike the genesis, then Greek did not have a garden archetype. It had more issues, for example the father /son archetype. “Crocus grabbed his father and castrated him, with the stone sickle, throwing the severed genitals into the ocean .” Because Uran*s was not a good father so his son and wife plotted revenge to hurt/k** him.
