Latin rock band from Argentina la Renga performed live for the first time in 1988, debuting with an independent album titled Esquivando Charcos in 1991. A Donde Me Llevan la Vida followed in 1993. A year later, la Renga was able to sell out Obras Sanitarias, Buenos Aires' major venue, while their music started to be distributed by Polygram. 1995's Bailando en Una Pata featured "Nacido Para Ser Salvaje," a successful Spanish-language cover of Steppenwolf's "Born to Be Wild." Ricardo Mollo produced 1996's Despedazado Por Mil Partes. After issuing a self-titled record and La Esquina del Infinito, a live album called Insoportablemente Vivo was released in 2001. ~ Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide
