Kylie_p - Experiment 1 lyrics

Beep. Beep. Beep. I hear Brynn's alarm go off in the morning, but instead of waking up, I roll back over. She gets up in a matter of seconds, and I wonder to myself how she does it. It's way too early for me, even though I'm excited for the days ahead of us, I can't manage to bring myself to get up and get dressed. Brynn rustles around the room while I still sleep soundly, she pulls on a black band shirt that is way too similar to every other black band shirt that she owns. The door to her room opens, when I eventually decide to drag myself out of the bed and put on some jeans and a t-shirt while she puts on her make-up in the bathroom. We're heading to Colorado to see our favorite band, Fall Out Boy. Not only are we going to see them at the magnificent Red Rocks Amphitheater, but we are going to meet them as well. I'm so excited that I feel as if I'm a volcano that is bound to erupt any minute. Who can say that they have come within a few mere inches of the boys from Fall Out Boy? Not many. In a couple days though, I could scream it at the top of my lungs. I could tell everyone I encountered that I met the wonderful Pete, Patrick, Joe and Andy, but not quite yet, I still had a couple of days until the concert actually began. After I finish getting ready, we head out to the old Toyota Camry, Brynn slides into the driver's side and I jump into the pa**enger seat. Brynn's mother, Krista, locks the door to the house and gets into the backseat to take a nap while Brynn drives. We could have gone on our own, but it's just much easier to bring her mother along with us. This feels all too familiar, because we have essentially done this before. Last year, we headed to Colorado in this exact same car, to a brilliant Fall Out Boy concert. Everything changes so much in a year, except for our love of Fall Out Boy. We were in high school previously, just trying to make it out alive. High school is a war zone, but one thing that I knew could always keep us going were the songs that Fall Out Boy created. Neither of us enjoyed high school much, and maybe that's why we got along so well. The words meant a lot to us, not necessarily the exact same songs, but we each had our own songs that we kept near and dear to our hearts. Nearly an entire year later, here we were, heading down the interstate on our way to the beloved state of Colorado to see our even more beloved band. This was our way of bonding as best friends, we understood each other through our love of music.
