Amores Como El Tuyo (ROCAsound Mix) *
Kumbia KingsTexas-based Latin pop group Kumbia Kings hit the ground running in 1999 when their debut album, Amor, Familia Y Respeto, was released, selling over 500,000 copies and earning them a Grammy nomination. The recording, which was produced by A.B. Quintanilla, who had also produced his sister Selena's music before her untimely d**h, was a Spanish-language mix of Cumbia, pop, rap, and R&B. In 2000, they took that multicultural mix and applied it to a crossover, English-language album, Think'n About U, which featured the hit single "U Don't Love Me." Two albums -- No Tengo Dinero and 4 -- were released in 2003. The American Music Awards recognized the group's stature by nominating the group for the Latin Artist of the Year award. ~ Stacia Proefrock, All Music Guide
