Jaclynn_m - Experiment 6 lyrics

Katie grew up in small town Nebraska. She was a bright kid, always did well in school, had a lot of friends, loved spending time with her family, and had big dreams. She was a dreamer, anyone could have told you that. She dreamt all day and night. While all of her friends were outside playing hide and go seek, Katie was inside studying. She wanted to get out of that small town. She loved her family and friends, and even her dogs who resided in that town, but she knew at the bottom of her heart that there was something more out there, and she knew where it was: New York City. Since the time Katie saw New York City on the Macy's Day Parade, she always wanted to go. She thought it was incredible. The tall buildings, the hustle and bustle of the traffic, and of course, the fashion. She saw movies where these high-powered, independent women had amazing apartments in the city, and worked at top fashion magazines like Cosmo and Glamour. She wanted to be one of those women, and she thought the only way to do it was to study hard and get a good scholarship. So she did, she studied her bu*t off in middle school and high school, and graduated with honors from her high school. She got a great scholarship and decided, with many long talks with her family, that she would head out East to New York University and study English and Journalism. Once Fall came she was off to the big apple. Her parents dropped her off at her dorm and she promised to visit for every holiday, and send postcards to them at every event she visited. She was ecstatic. This was New York City, her dream since she was a little girl, and she made it happen with dedication and hard work. For four years she worked her bu*t off at NYU. She worked on the student run newspaper, was in the journalism club, and also interned at Teen Vogue to get her foot in the door. She felt great about what was to come in life, with graduation only a month away, she was determined to apply to her dream jobs. She finally accepted an Editing Assistant position with Cosmopolitan, her dream magazine to work for. The day she graduated and walked down that aisle to accept her diploma, she felt like she had finally made it. A few weeks had pa**ed and she was able to buy her first apartment in the city with one of her best friends, and she even used some of her graduation money to buy a whole new wardrobe for the office. Her dream had been made, and she was so excited to start this journey that she had waited so long for.
