During the day, as a lady was about to follow her faith and set off to join the Cathars, she felt the desire to see her child one last time. As she approached the cradle in which her infant lay, it appeared to her as if she could notice the hint of a smile upon its lips. Afterwards, as she wanted to leave the room, she looked around again. There lay the child, still smiling. In surprise, she stepped back into the room for a moment, since she did not have the heart to depart readily. She turned away yet again, albeit not whithout looking under the door towards her child once more. Her child remaindes behind in its dradle and continued to smile at her without wavering. As such, she turned about a further time. Ths ritual repeated itself until the wet nurse took the child, and her mistress could finally take her leave...
