An epic hero monomyth is someone who fulfills the role of a hero using the steps in the cycle. There are many examples of Epic hero Monomyth. Luke Skywalker and Bob Parr are very good examples of epic monomyths and also very good role models. Bob Parr A.K.A Mr. Incredible is a better role model because he encourages people to stand up to their enemies. In a good way. He also teaches them not to be afraid to speak their mind. Luke Skywalker definitely fulfills the Epic Hero Monomyth. His call to adventure was fulfilled when he receives the message from Princess Leia. He is very intrigued by this and wants to go save her immediately. His trails stage step was when he battles the stroomtroopers. That was his first time battling so I know he would be kind of nervous. His crisis stage was after obi-Wan is k**ed by Vader. Luke was really close Obi-Wan so he was very depressed when he was k**ed. Bob A.K.A Mr. Incredible also fulfills the Epic Hero Monomyth. When his call to adventure came around, he was very surprised; confused actually. Who knew his true identity? His departure step was most difficult. He couldn't let his wife know that he was going on yet another mission. His crisis step was worst of all. He was captured by his arch nemesis and tortured. The best of all is his new life and his resolution. He actually defeated his arch nemesis with the help of his friends and family. His new life was very new. He had got a new, good paying job. They all got a fresh start. Although they both fulfill the epic hero monomyth, I feel as if Mr. Incredible is the better role model. He not only fulfills the purpose of an Epic Monomyth, but he also influences young kids to be whatever they want to be. If you believe that you are a superhero; then you're a superhero. Don't let people tell you that you're not something, or that you can't do something. Mr. Incredible says that it is ok to get help when in need. In conclusion, even though Luke Skywalker and Bob Parr exhibited examples of an Epic hero Monomyth, I feel as if Bob Parr took it an extra step further. He really influenced lots of kids, teens, and even adults throughout his movie. Knowing what an Epic hero is, or even knowing what makes one is very important. Just because someone is a hero, that doesn't make them an Epic Hero. Certain characteristics make up an Epic Hero and Bob Parr makes up all of them. Strive to be the best.!
