Ronnie K. Whitlock - Outro lyrics

[Psychologist:] “I've gone over every bit of it a thousand times. There's simply nothing mentally unstable about him.” [Doctor:] “There has to be. No normal person acts like that. No one normal loses that much sleep over a few words. What kind of doctor are you?” [Psychologist:] “The #1 Psychologist in America, thank you very much. And I agree, he's not normal, but are any of us really?” [Doctor:] “Elaborate.” [Psychologist:] “Well, there's 7-billion people in the world. By 2050, that number will have raised to about 10-billion. I mean, every psychological study you will find, whether it be by today's brightest minds or philosophers of Ancient Greece, all have one conclusive point in common: No two humans are the same. Twins are close, but different personalities. Even cloned animals show vastly different behaviors. So, out of the growing 7-billion people on Earth, not a single one of them is like the other. I guess sooner or later, you run into someone who isn't normal. Or, to put it specifically, “normality,” itself, runs out of possibilities. Sure, there are more than plenty of people who fall under what a subjective society describes as “normal” and you have more than plenty who fall way outside that category. Sociopaths, schizophrenia, autism, murderers, psychopaths, people we deem as having a mental illness, diagnosed medically and/or socially as suffering from a sickness of the mind.” [Doctor:] “Look, I get it; you've done your reading on philosophy. Get to the point, is he sick or not?“ [Psychologist:] “I was getting to that, please be patient. Anyway, we label some as having a sickness of the mind. Working where you and I work, you don't have to look far to see that. People change. Society changes. The norms of interaction are constantly evolving. There was a time when being left-handed was a mark of the devil. In Sparta, k**ing a slave was a rite of pa**age. Polygamy is still practiced everywhere. Hell, up until 20-or-so years ago, being h*mos**ual was a sickness, a disorder.” [Doctor:] “Is this your way of saying that he's not crazy, just gay?” [Psychologist:] “No doctor, he's a heteros**ual. I a**ure you. And be careful throwing around the C-word, doc.” [Doctor:] “I was supposed to clock out three hours ago, but I stayed to hear you diagnosis.” [Psychologist:] “And you're gonna get it. Remember how I said that when it comes to the “sanity spectrum,” so-to-speak, there's “normal” on one end and those k**ers and maniacs on the other? Well, the spectrum is very fine. A completely sane man can be pushed to k** in a single moment of pa**ionate anger. And a murderer can show remorse for what they have done and repent for their sins. That man in that room that you called me in to evaluate is an example of someone trapped in the middle. Tight-roping on that fine line. Not a murderer, not normal, just a human. Because despite what all of the studies say, all humans are the same. Two eyes, ten fingers and one heart. So, I guess the easiest way to say it is that the 7-billion people on this planet who all have as complex and intricate lives as you do… none of it means anything as far as being “different” goes. If everyone has as amazing-a-life as everyone else, what's the point? No doctor, we're all human. We're all the same.” [Doctor:] “Well. That's kinda depressing.” [Psychologist:] “You could look at it like that. But keep in mind, everyone's life could be the same, but no one else's “same” is quite the same as your's.” [Doctor:] “So we're really gonna end this as a stereotypical misunderstood teenager story?” [Psychologist:] “Nah. He isn't misunderstood. Whatever he wants people to understand, he'll tell them. No doctor, he just really loves music. Writing. It's his pa**ion. Without it, he wouldn't be him. My diagnosis: he's fine. Let him out. Let him keep making his music and who knows? The kid could change the world someday.” [Doctor:] “As long as that change is for the better. I just can't help but worry that all of his work, his intelligence, creativity, was wasted for nothing.” [Psychologist:] “Well, to us, it may be nothing. But to him… to him its everyth-“ [Progress:] Nothing is Everything & I am no exception The quantity you envision relies on your perception What you deny is the cure when you experience infection Everything may be nothing, but nothing is perfection Perfection is in the eye of those who live their lives for others Perfection is in the heart of my perceptive sisters and brothers When all of mankind sees my vision as their perception They'll see that Nothing is Everything & that I am no exception
