The epic hero monomyth is a cyclical journey or a quest undertaken by a hero which includes steps in the cycle status quo, call to adventure, a**istance, departure, trials, approach, crisis, treasure, result, return, new life, resolution, status quo. Luke sky walker and Merlin fulfill the epic hero monomyth in many ways, they both saved life's, both risk themselves to save others and they always win. Luke sky walker fulfills his epic hero monomyth in various ways. For example Luke sky walker is a normal but a strong young boy who lives on a farm with his grandparents but is not happy with the way he's living. This shows the status quo that things are normal. Call to adventure, Luke purchases two droids when one of them name R2D2 shows Luke a distress call from princess Leia, “help me obi-wan Kenobi your my only help”. Merlin a young warlock who fulfils his epic monomyth. Merlin is a young gifted warlock who was born with great magical powers who is destined to protect the great kingdom of Camelot and defend anyone who is in great trouble. He moves into the kingdom of Camelot, he's new Life begins a**isting an old physician who becomes his a**istance soon protects the prince of Camelot then a**igned to protect and serve the prince but not knowing that they rebuild and bring magic back to Camelot. The best role model for me is Merlin because he is the most honest throughout the whole story and risk his own life just to save others. Merlin is better because he only use's his power only for good, throughout his journey Merlin has influenced other wizards to show the true purpose of their magic for its use, he makes some incredibly hard decisions but throughout all despite he manages to always rise up to the top and even when he's down he will always find a way to fix it. The epic hero monomyth is important because Merlin fullfils the same journey as Luke sky walker, Merlin is a hero who tries to do his best to save everyone who is in danger, he may not be the best at what he does but he risks everything he has to save the ones he loves. This is important because merlin fulfills and goes through all the steps in the cycle and changes the way he thinks as he finishes his new life
