Madeline Sigler - Post on the Phaeacians lyrics

The Phaeacians are a people that Homer's audience would have known as being in between the unreal locations of the story, and the reality of the audience's location. In epic poems, the Phaeacians were able to transition between the realm of the gods and the realm of people easily. Because of this, even though the Phaeacians were mortal, they were considered to be closer to the gods than normal mortal men. Parada, Carlos. "Phaeacians - Greek Mythology Link."
