KIPP:STAR - Caricatures Past and Present lyrics

Have you seen the new video of starkeisha's hit song baby mama? This shows the stereotype of all black woman/girls always get pregnant and have no fathers or baby daddy's because they always end up being divorced and the fathers paying child support.Don't you think that's kind of racist? The way he/she dresses like a hoochie in the video and shakes her bu*t and acts like a ghetto baby mama.Stereotypes still live with us today a little bit too much now.Back then slaves will always judged and beaten for even trying to act like that and they even got judged the way they looked without acting like a hoochie or a ghetto black woman .Stereotypes in the past still happen in the present and in the media. Mammy's were created to be under control. Mammy's had the stereotypes of having to cook all the time and take care of everyone and on top of that they would be happy about it. One way the mammy was shown was as a “nanny in charge of white children”who was happy about raising the children correctly. The mammy caricature was also shown in advertisements like the aunt jemima syrup commercials they would show her as a mammy that would always cook pancakes etc.The mammy caricature was also shown in other advertisements like the lady from popeyes and she would always say she makes the best fried chicken and that would show a mammy stereotype. This would show that mammy's were happy that she was under control and always having to take care of people for a living.Mammy's mostly took care of white children while black children were not taken care of or fed at all, they were mostly on the street doing whatever they want to make a living. The pickaninny shows that they would like to be going through lack of success and laziness. The pickaninny stereotype of a pickaninny was that they were little lazy black children that did no work on the plantation and wouldn't get caught doing it because if they did they were brutally beaten or sometimes even k**ed .They were also known as always having big red lips, big feet, dirty, dirty nappy hair, etc. If the children were caught not doing work on the plantation the slave master would say “hit those n******g babies”.This would show that they would try to be a little sneaky when its comes to not working on the plantation.Tv shows show this caricature like BLACKISH the tv show they streotype all blacks being lazy, loud, and ghetto which all is not.Another tv show is THE CLEAVELAND SHOW cleaveland the main charicter he is a lazy stepfather that is married and has 1 child and 2 step children and basically all he does is sit around and watch tv,eat, and drink beer which shows stereotypes of the pickaninny. Coons were grown up pickaninnies. The stereotypes of coons were the most degrading and insulting of all anti-black caricatures. Same as the pickaninny if they didn't work they were hit or k**ed and “they tryed to do things without getting caught by the master” they did that because since they were older it was harder for them to do things without getting caught because they were bigger and taller it depends. Even though they knew the consequences if they were caught they still did it anyway just to find a way out or just be lazy and not do any work. On the news it shows that blacks try to be sneaky and try doing things without getting caught because when you turn on the tv in the morning or whatever and change it to the news channel it's always that blacks did something wrong like robbed a store, k**ed someone. Isn't it tiring watching your own race do childish things when they know we are the lowest degrading, most insulted race ever? The stereotypes for coons were the same as piccaninnies big ears, big red lips, bulging eyes etc. This shows that coons would always try to find there way out of something which leads us to uncle tom. Uncle tom was a very faithful and trustworthy man to his people.Uncle tom was the type of man who was type slavish but everyone could trust him.He would never “betray his people even if they did something to him” he was a loyal friend/person.He wanted to show them the he was “strong”.Shows like THE PRETTY LITTLE LIARS they are 4 teenage girls that are like sisters and they stick together from thick threw thin and ups and downs no matter what just like uncle tom but the difference is that they are they are trying to find the k**er to their 5th person ally who is “dead”.This shows that shows can even relate to what happened in the past and a connection of how uncle tom acted back then. Imagine a world that will bring you back to the past. Everybody will start k**ing each other and having wars and battles. Battles meaning fights between whites and blacks. Imagine having another civil war RACE VS. RACE.Don't you think if we keep on with these jezebel stereotypes and black stereotypes things are going to change? No, they are going to be even worse than they even were before. We need to start showing that we are worth something and that these stereotypes are not true they are just opinions and that we are making a difference in this world instead of trying to ruin it.
