Kevin Albi - Creation Essay lyrics

The Genesis and Greek creation stories are both similar and different in how they use literary archetypes. Both the Greek and Genesis creation stories utilize the villain archetype. One example of a villain archetype in the Greek story is “Cronus swallowed each of his children as they were born.” This proves that Cronus is filling the role of the villain archetype. His lust of power is so great that he selfishly sacrifices his own children to keep the throne. Also, another villain archetype in the genesis story is that “Cain k**ed his brother Abel.” Cain got tired and mad that god only took stuff from his brother Abel and not him so he k**ed him. This proves that Cain is filling the villain archetype. The Greek and Genesis creation stories also contrast, with the former having an epic battle or father/son and the latter of a garden archetype. In the Greek creation story the father/son archetype is “Zeus wants to k** his dad Cronus.” Zeus wants to throw his dad, Cronus, from the throne. This is filling the father/son archetype. In the genesis story, the quote is” Earth, green up! Grow all varieties of seed-bearing plants.” This is filling up the garden/paradise archetype. God grew all type all type of plants and in every color. Finally, both of these stories show examples of father/son and garden archetype.
