Kat_p - Experiment 3 lyrics

1. I choose on On the Rainy River by Tim O'Brien because I like how the main character makes the reader anticipate reading the story by explaining why no one has heard it before. I wanted to take this secret to my coffin with me. I never planned to tell a single soul the truth about what happened in tenth grade. Some secrets are better left unsaid. I was worried what people would think. I was embarra**ed about the fool I had been and angry for being so used. I should have listened to my friends when they told me not to do it, but at sixteen, I just a**umed they were jealous. I was picked over them and they could not handle that. Plus, I knew what I was doing and I wanted it. Back then, I did not realize how big of an impact this would have on me later as an adult. I never considered the possibilities until after the act was committed, but then it was too late. I was able to hide the incident from the world, and I wanted it to stay that way. Now, I don't have any choice but to share what happened because if I don't it could mean someone's life. A life that has always been dear to me no matter what label they had. It did not matter if they called me mother or sister. Of course, they only knew me as sister. How would my husband and kids feel? Things were complicated enough without everyone knowing. 2. “Josh, I have something I want to talk to you about, and you are not going to be happy with me when you hear what I have to say.” I sat in the kitchen waiting for my husband to come home, so I could tell him about a lie I had been holding in for years. What if he hates me and wants to leave me when he finds out? Christin's has were sweating, as she played with them in her lap waiting, contemplating all the things that could go wrong with this conversation. Josh walked through the door to find his wife, Christin, crying at the kitchen counter and his heart dropped to his stomach. “Mom, I can't tell Josh about Jacob. What if he doesn't understand?” The phone dropped from Christin's hands, bouncing off the floor, when her mother delivered the news about Jacob's condition. I love Jacob with all of my heart no matter how he came to be in my life, and I would do anything to save his life, even give up my family. I can do this, I can tell my husband that I have a son, not a brother. Christin grabbed the bottle of Jack Daniels from the freezer, and took a deep drink to give herself the liquid courage she needed to tell her husband life changing news. My favorite one of all these is probably number 8 because it gives enough details to make someone want to read more. Who is Jacob and why would the main character have to give up her/his family for him?
