10/07/13 *Was* Walter White Ozymandias After All? on poetry genius This is like an article, or blog gives a personal opinion on the show's main character Walter White. They compare Walter White with Ozymandias. Ozymandias was an Egyptian pharaohs whose people built a huge statue. The statue fell apart threw time as did the empire of Ozymandias. Walter White often calls his meth business an empire. "The poem about Ozymandias is about Pharaoh Ramses II. Ramses was a long-ruling pharaoh during whose reign Egypt was at its peak." The quote can be found at http://ancienthistory.about.com/od/egypt/ig/Ancient-Egypt/Ramses-II.htm. 10/08/13 Lies My Teacher Told Me The book is just what the titles says, no not that teachers are liars, but more of what they thought. How history was rewritten to make heroic figures look pure and hide the truth. Hiding the conflicts, pain, credibility, or human interest. People look up to the good, and a role model like say George Washington is seen as a hero, noble man. But he was a slave owner, but was kinder to them, he ended up leaving his home to them. But history got one thing right, there's a reason why they're seen as heroes because of their actions written in history matter the most, even a criminal can change history. 10/10/13 Into The Wild The story is about Christopher Johnson McCandless. He wanted to escape man for the simpler things in life like nature. He ran away from home and was claimed lost. He's been a drifter since then, gave all his savings to charity and worked odd jobs for cash. He lived in the wild for four months, was found dead decomposed by a moose hunter.
