Jolynn Owens - Week 14 journal entry lyrics

11/11 All eyes were on Miley Cyrus during the 2013 MTV European Music Awards, held in Amsterdam this Sunday. With her VMAs performance being one of the top music stories of this year, spectators held their collective breath, wondering what kind of controversy Cyrus would bring to the MTV stage on the other side of the pond. And Miley did not disappoint. 11/12 As dug up by the fine folks at Bob's Blitz, the highlight you see above shows a picture-perfect Statue of Liberty play as run by a crew of 5- and 6-year-olds competing for the Suniland Sundevils. Needless to say, this Sundevils squad competes in the pee wee division. The Sundevils play at Suniland Park in Miami, and according to their team website they've built up an impressive 7-1 record so far in 2013. 11/13 The NBA appears to be sick and tired of being on the wrong end of what many call “the greatest sports business deal of all time,” and they're trying to rectify that. The league is reportedly in negotiations to dissolve a binding deal put together in 1976 by Ozzie and Daniel Silna, former owners of the ABA's Spirits of St. Louis. Spurned by the NBA after merger talks helped the NBA absorb four former ABA teams, the Silna brothers decided to waive a chance at a ma**ive buyout from the NBA, and struck a deal to receive one-seventh of each of the yearly television revenue of those four former ABA teams in perpetuity. 11/14 That's Derrick Rose, modeling the special sleeved jersey he and the rest of the Chicago Bulls will wear on Christmas Day as part of the NBA's annual Christmas mega-holiday hoopstravaganza. Every player on each of the 10 teams participating in the Dec. 25 quintuple-header will be rocking the sleeves-and-big-logo look, and while the tops themselves still strike my eye (and maybe yours, too) as fairly awful, the new holiday-themed commercial the NBA has cooked up to promote the day's games and showcase the Adidas gear still stands up pretty darn well: 11/15 A Florida principal agreed today with a mother who was angry that her son made the honor roll despite having a C and a D on his report card. Principal Kim Anderson of Pasco Middle School in Dade City, Fla., was siding with Beth Tillack who was upset that her seventh grade son Douglas was on the honor roll and his report card came with a teacher's comment, "good job" and a smiley face.
