On behalf of the Earth, I would like to say thanks to two of the great, Environmentalist of our day, Senator Gaylord Nelson and Denis Hayes, Two men with an unique vision, To realize, That the ignorance, Of living without considering, The impact our actions had on the planet, Was causing permanent damage, Luckily somehow they managed, During the War in Vietnam, To raise enough awareness, in 1969, Along with thousands of Americans, Sparked by environmental pride, So, in 1970, Nixon put the war aside, And Earth Day became a National Holiday, Celebrated today, In over 100 countries worldwide.
