G-Star Raw - G-Star Elwood lyrics

Pierre Morisset, head designer at G-Star RAW, was first struck with a new design for denim when he saw a motorcyclist pa**ing by. The rider's pants were wet, muddy and sculpted by the hours of riding in rough weather. The knees, in particular, stood out to Morisset: bulging in the front, crinkled in the back. What's more, the material retained this shape even after the motorcyclist dismounted. The pant was, in essence, moulded to the mechanics of his body and sculpted by time and the elements to become an extension of his life on a machine. Morisset set to work on what would become an icon by rethinking and reconstructing denim. How does flat, two-dimensional denim absorb volume, bulging and crinkling with the articulation at the knee? How does one build a garment that is aged to form right from the moment of manufacture, rather than after years and years of hard wear? Morisset then created patterns with curvilinear shapes to follow the movement of the body and build volume into the garment, applying the patterns to rigid raw denim to create the world's first three-dimensional denim in the form of the G-Star Elwood. The 1996 release would not only reinvent the denim pant, but also go on to become a platform for denim experimentation, leading to multiple generations and mutations. The new design features new fits and a cleaner look due to the subtler stitching. The new G-Star Elwood design comes in two fits for men: the 5620 3D Super Slim, which is tightly fitted from waist to hem, and the 5620 3D Low Tapered, a slimmer version of the G-Star Tapered fit. For women, the G-Star Elwood – MC 5620 has been updated for a contemporary look with tonal stitching and a new 3D knee construction where the side seam crosses the knee toward the inner leg, resulting in a clean look and inventive new 3D patterns and fit. The overall effect is at once feminine and edgy.
