An oddly rhythmic doom metal band from Dewsbury, England, Dominion were formed in 1990 under the influence of thrash and, initially, with the name Blasphemer, before ultimately arriving at their own sound during the mid-'90s. By then, vocalist Michele Richfield had joined Ma** Firth and Arno Cagna (both guitar and vocals), Danny North (ba**), and Bill Law (drums), resulting in a pair of unique-sounding albums for the Peaceville label in 1996's Interface and 1997's Blackout. At that point, rumor has it that Peaceville suggested they look into dance music, prompting Dominion's premature dissolution instead, with Law quickly resurfacing in d**h/doomsters My Dying Bride and Richfield going on to participate in ex-Anathema ba**ist Duncan Patterson's Antimatter. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, All Music Guide
