After spending many of years growing up in Cleveland, OH while air guitaring to Sabbath, the five members of Craw decided to pick up some real instruments and start their own band in 1987. After several years of playing in and around Ohio and a handful of demos, Craw would eventually release their first self-titled album in 1994 followed by the Lost Nation Road album; both of which were hooked up with the production a**istance courtesy of Steve Albini. After starting their own label Cambodia Recordings in 1996, the band took advantage of the "do it yourself" attitude and self-released Map Monitor Surge in 1997. ~ Mike DaRonco, All Music Guide
