Ariadneb - Creation essay lyrics

The Genesis and Greek creation stories are both similar and different in terms of how they use literary archetypes. Both the Greek and Genesis creation stories utilize the villain archetype. Because he was afraid of not having power or even control,“Cronus swallowed each of his children as they were born” (Greek myth). This proves that Cronus is filing the role of the villain archetype .His lust for power is so great that he selfishly sacrifices his own children in order to keep the throne.Because Cain was angry,“Cain had words with his brother .They were out in the field; Cain came at Abel his brother and k**ed him.”(Genesis archetype) Cain is a villain archetype because he had bad intentions and put himself before anybody else. Cain's jealousy triggered him to k** Abel. These examples show both stories using the villain archetype. The Greek and Genesis creation stories also contrast, with the former having a father/son rivalry and the latter a garden archetype.Since a father/son archetype was being presented “Cronus grabbed his father and castrated him with the stone sickle, throwing the served genitals into the ocean.” (Greek detail) Cronus's actions definitely showed a father/son rivalry because he tried to k** his own father. Also, because they both were trying to k** one another, this represents a rivalry between the two.Because paradise was being portrayed ,this quote “And there it was; he named the sky the heavens” (Genesis detail) symbolizes paradise because it's the place where the hero archetype would want to go back after they come back from their journey. And also because heavens is usually described as a place of peace and tranquility. Both of these examples show the different archetypes they have.
