9/18/13 Today i read a book titled "Book of Rhymes: The Poetics of HIP HOP". It was about how hip hop is poetry. Not all hip hop or rap artist today make poetry but how MC's use to rhyme and how it flowed. The way they would recreate a nursery rhyme and turn it into something different with a deeper meaning using metaphors. 9/19/13 Today I read a book titled “The Empire State of Mind”. I only got through the intro of the book but it was about the background on rapper Jay-Z's life. Also it was about what Jay-Z‘s friends and a**ociates thought about him and what they said during interviews for the book. Mainly, about how he got so rich and worth so much money; and how good of a businessman he is.
