Prozac winters
And Valium smiles
Jumping off bridges on rubber bands
Java mornings
Columbian highs
Musing through mazes
Traced in the mind
Everyone needs some joy
Woke up this morning
At the dawn
Put a pot of coffee on
The prairie landscape
Was painted white
Captured bits of frozen moonlight
It looked like joy
Tried to find it in my mother's prayer
Tried to find it in my an*lyst's chair
Been looking for it everywhere
My daughter came running to me
Smile big enough to eat the sky
We all had that once upon a time
We spend our whole lives trying
To find joy
