Getting up
*(to be read aloud)
[Troy Banxz]
Trying to get up, though your pulling me down
Every rhyme I make up is received with a frown
Every noun that I use the towns bound to be offended
My mouth makes an enemy of all those I`ve befriended
Pretended to care
Though none of my 'friends' were there
The audience is looking bare
And I`m performing to air
Is that 'fair'?
I guess that is the 'price' I pay
For thinking that anyone cares what I have to say
If you had your way
Then my views would be silenced
By portraying my songs as foolish and violent
Afraid to write music to the words that I write
In case society depicts me as a stereotype
Well I`m not a keyboard or a copycat either
My motto is all 'mono' because others will decieve yah
The world has turned heartless, though i`m a believer
That we can find a 'wiz', and I don`t mean khalifa
The world is cold, in need of a heater
But there`s no need for hell on earth neither
Sin in our minds just like a hot fever
Dudes want to be santa, 'cause he`s a 'heavy breather'
I`m not a missionary, just a visionary
`bought a dictionary when the world happened to get scary
Standards seem imaginary like the tooth fairy
You find a lot of Jezebels looking for a Mary
I don`t talk fast, maybe you just listen slow
Drink some water, then your ear may hear this 'flow'
It still has idioms, metaphors and similes
So treat these poems as a prophesy exposing tyranny
The possibility that you may listen is enough
Without me 'throwing gang signs' or pretending I`m tough
For those that share my views, I hope to show them clearly
For foes whose support I may lose?
Fear me
