My heart swells with warmth,
While looking through your eyes,
Such compa**ion, and wonder,
So many what's, whens and whys.
I can feel your heart beating,
Such a melodious tune,
Beating in time,
I'll have to leave soon.
Joy flashes before me,
And-oh! A smile!
Such a crooked thing!
Perhaps I'll wait awhile.
A swirling world is reflected,
Or is it me?
Is my vision blurred,
Because of what I see?
I feel such happiness,
And even more within reach,
I can feel myself unbalancing,
As we walk on the beach.
I've never felt happier
With a child right beside me.
A mother, and her adopted daughter,
Slips her hand into mine as she cutely guides me.
I let her drag me,
Towards the rippling tide,
I ready myself for the incoming wave,
And, as it pa**es me, I let myself glide,
Onto the soft sand beneath
My feet, watching the child giggle in laughter,
I smiled a sweet smile, and joyfully thought,
This would be my happily ever after.
