The line's in the sand
Where do you stand?
The battle lines are drawn
Which side are you on?
The Baby Boomers had their chance
But they stuck their heads right in the sand.
They built their house in suburbia
We would too but we f**ing can't
They had a higher wage and no kind of debt
But then they ask you why you ain't married yet.
Their heyday seems so long ago.
Just a little c**aine and some deregulation left us all holding the bill
Then they told us it would all come trickling down
And we'd drink til we had our fill.
What a f**ing lie!
So what's left for the rest of us? Nothing much.
The kids of today are gonna write their story
They think your faded entries are so f**ing boring and rude
And maybe it's true.
Then Generation X came along
And all was supposed to be alright.
But we've had recessions and we've made some wars
And we never seem to get a damn thing right.
Not a damn thing right.
So what's left for the rest of us? Nothing much.
The kids of today are gonna write their story
They think your faded entries are so f**ing boring and rude
And maybe it's true.
The kids of today are gonna write their story
They think your faded entries are so f**ing boring and rude
And maybe it's true.
Or they'll get theirs too.
