Take the elevator in the empty car garage, ten stories high
Where the sky and concrete collide
Make the jump across the building tops to the other side
Suspended there, in the air, 'till the end of time
Frozen in the moment - let me study all the frames that you pose in
Take the path of bricks to the open stairwell on the roof and peer inside
At the nest that I found with you
Open up your bag, and use the camera that you brought
To snap a shot of the children we've adopted
I'm gonna need a slide, so I can project all the stills you collect
And view them side by side
Two months later and we're still waiting for the eggs to hatch
Because the baby birds are trapped inside
But now the Autumn's over, and the cold November winds
Are rushing in - and I hope that they survive
