"Come inside," she calls out to the porch
"Were you there all night?"
He opens the door and says
"I haven't slept, hardly slept at all."
All I can think of are the words we said
The tears and the screaming and the scars they left
We're so far from healing
And the night's still repeating in my head
Can we take two?
Try and break through
These walls of unforgiving
These lies that we've been living
Or watch us fade to grey
Speak your mind
Cause I know I never listen when I'm caught up in thinking I'm right
I won't slam the door
So don't roll your eyes
We're worth fighting for
Can we stop for once and breathe?
This is not the end if we don't want it to be
