Luke Skywalker fulfills the epic hero monomyth greatly. He's a perfect example of a hero. He's willing to save anybody's life even if it means jeopardizing his own.
For example being a normal teen on a farm qualifies him for the status quo category. He heard a call of help from Leia. “Help me Ouibi Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope”. “Who Is that? She beautiful”. He finds her very attractive which pushes him to help her even more. That was his epic call to adventure. Luke does all he can to save Leia. “Go to Aalderaan”. He was giving a quest.
Leigh Ann Touhy is absolutely perfect for the epic hero monomyth. She's a very cla**y mom but still takes no nonsense. She does all she can to make him fill welcome. “How do you feel about being a part of this family”. Leanne gets him in a better school, and gets him and into football and provides all his needs. “You see number 74? Well, that's *my* son”. She treated him the same as she treated her real children, she never made him feel any different. “You're changing that boy's life, No. He's changing mine”. There was a major influence in each other's lives they made each other better.
I think Leigh Ann is a better hero because she sacrifices more. “I'd like to become a legal guardian”. She loses friends and clubs just because of this desion, but she really didn't even care as long as she had him. She was willing to hire a tutor, provide and work with him to get to where he needed to be. “Leigh Ann, aren't you worried for Collins? I mean, she's a beautiful white girl, and he's a big, black boy”. She didn't worry about what people thought she trusted her son.
The best role model is Leigh. She has more real-life qualities that are used today more than Luke sky walker. She can teach and inspire women to be great mothers. She relates better to real-life. In my opinion shes a better hero than Luke skywalker.
