This Week 10 match between the Carolina Panthers (NFC South) and the Philadelphia Eagles (NFC East) took place at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Carolina entered at 3-5-1 off of a loss to New Orleans while the Eagles entered at 6-2 coming off of a win over Houston. Cody Parkey opened the scoring less than 2 minutes into the game with a 39 yard field goal to put the Eagles up 3-0. Exactly 2 minutes in game time later, Darren Sproles had an 8 yard run for a touchdown to put the Eagles up 10-0. However, Jonathan Stewart had a 1 yard TD run 5:25 later to cut the deficit to 10-7 for Carolina. But less than 3 minutes later, Sproles scored his 2nd touchdown on a 65 yard punt return. 17-7 Eagles. The 2nd quarter consisted of 2 Philly touchdowns, a Mark Sanchez 13 yard TD pa** to Jordan Matthews and a Bradley Fletcher 34 yard interception return for a TD. The Eagles led 31-7 at the half.
In the 3rd quarter, LeSean McCoy had a 1 yard touchdown run to put the Eagles up 38-7 after 3 quarters. Early in the 4th quarter, it was Sanchez to Matthews again, this time from 18 out to put Philadelphia up 45-7. However, Carolina would add 2 garbage time touchdowns (Cam Newton to Kelvin Benjamin from 21 out and Newton to Benjamin from 40 out) to close the gap to 45-21 before it was all said and done. Philadelphia improves to 7-3 while Carolina drops to 3-6-1.
