Last year, the Bears disappointed fans when they only won 5 games, after Chicago fans truly believed it was “their year” (I definitely was one of these), but let's be honest – it's not 1985.
We thought we built an amazing team (on offense), with arguably the best 1-2 WR duo in the league, which eventually was plagued with injuries on Marshall's side. In the end, what let us down was Jay Cutler starting off a good year, throwing some nice pa**es and then totally k**ing our football-bo*ers when he started throwing interceptions every game.
Another let down was our appalling defense. With the exception of the first round pick, Kyle Fuller who really showed he has potential, our defense was complete rubbish. Lance Briggs and Charles Tillman were definitely going down in their energy and sk** and sadly left us this season. We could not stop the run to save our lives and that one game against the (fuc*ing) Packers where we lost by 41 points made most of us question why we were following this team in the first place.
But honestly, this year, I reckon that we can go further and actually have a decent year. With some additions on defense, including safety Antrel Rolle and a better defensive line and an improved offense, if Jay keeps his cool on the field and Kevin White (hopefully) being able to bounce back from his injury and surgery, I really think that we will be a better and improved team this year.
Too bad that our division is one of the best in the league, with all the teams starting to become a playoff contending team, but I feel good things about this year.
Hold on, fellow Bears fans.
