Pale eyes, bright eyes, sad eyes.
Pitter patter, pitter patter, pitter patter
small feet dart across the linoleum flooring,
the blood-curdling screams break the silence,
clomp, falls a heavy object.
The scream is silent, a moonbeam peeks
through the curtains.
A crimson stream moves from beneath
the door, the moonbeam rests on the broken floor,
there lays the body of a bloody parent.
And there go the tears of a newly orphaned child.
