[Intro: MayDay]
My mama told me those two shoes that I wore
Would take me to places I've never been before
Those two lungs I used to always smoke
Led me to a new hobby, and now it's my turn
See, the world wasn't ready for something this great
No one expected this amazing opportunity on my plate
I said thank you as the crowds yelled for more
My mama told me that one day I'd be this sore
From running towards my dreams, the ones I adored
The ones I was told by others I couldn't own
I captured the light right where it's supposed to shine
I was blessed with this achievement shown through my eyes
Another drink was poured, another cup was raised
For me and my greatness, what a wonderful day it truly is
All those years I was tired wondering when it'd be time
Opened up my eyes on a Sunday morning and I'd find
That the world was finally cheering my name
I was now welcomed to the land of fame
And sometimes I may say I've reached new heights
I may say I've been bathed in the limelight
But just know that I'm not all that conceited
This is my formal introduction, the name's MayDay
The only name that's needed
