(Capital STEEZ 2012 Interview)
I could relate to Chuck about like you know being at the bottom of the totem poll, like you put yourself at a mindset, it's like you lower your expectations, something big is always gonna happen. That's kinda the mindset I gotta keep reminding myself everyday. That's how I stay afloat in this 47 sh**. It's a cold world out here
(Verse 1)
Look, why did STEEZ have to go?
He was only 19, it doesn't really seem reasonable
His lyrics were ahead of his time, like time travel
But he couldn't keep up, he just had to unravel
With the pain he was facing on the downlow
So many downloads, but I guess that didn't keep him going right
Jamal Dewar, why did he have to go?
It's kinda sad, the whole rap game is kinda flying away from him now
The way that I see the world is the way that he influenced me to look at it now
Like look at me now
But look, he's a prince now, up in the skies above
But I don't know, he's flyer than a dove
Right, he would be competitive
He would set the game on fire
He is Capital STEEZ, he was never a lier
And I don't know how he is gonna take the rap game
But I just gotta keep on pushing his name up
(Hook: Capital STEEZ "Stars")
Cause when they try to shoot starts down
I'm sure to fall on to soft ground
I won't let y'all down you give me your all mom
Look at your boy now
Said look at your boy now, just look at your boy now
Look at your boy now
Said look at your boy now
Just look at your boy now
Dear Mama, your boy has become a man now
(Verse 2)
The sad part, is that he never really became a man
He was only 19, man I can barely understand
Why he had to leave the world
The world is different now
The world's a different place
The world is less creative now
The world didn't get to see what he was able to accomplish
King Capital, he's on the world
I don't even understand this
My brain is collapsing right now
Ugh, more influential to me than anybody else, right
Ugh, Jamal where are you now?
Like you would be competitive
You would be better than half there rappers that are succeeding in the rap game
You started Pro Era
P.E. forever man
Ma** hysteria around you because you were forgotten
You were only famous after you died which is pretty f**ed up, right
I knew you, I was only 14 when you died
Influenced me in every type of way
Helping me survive
Honestly, STEEZ is the reason the rap game is different now
He made me think about the things I'm thinking now
I'm dripping now
I'm drowning now in my thoughts and my emotions
Emotionless thoughts
And I've been like:
(Chant)
Who is the best MC right now?
If he was here they'd be mentioning him now
Said who's the best MC right now?
Said if STEEZ was here they'd be mentioning him right now, right
(Interlude)
The sky's the limit, that's what they told the f**in' fool
I disguise the limit, now I'm aimin' for the Sun and Moon
(Capital STEEZ from "Negus")
The sky's the limit, that's what they told the f**in' fool
I disguise the limit, now I'm aimin' for the Sun and Moon
(Lu-Tang)
I'm aimin' for the Sun and Moon
Long Live Steelo
