Hailing from Denver, Co, the artist has a different battle to wage than some of his contemporaries: having released numerous independent mixtapes the artist says, “The radio gives no love to local artists in Colorado. There's a bigger market for unsigned rock n' roll artists, but I have to go elsewhere because it's not like there's anyone out here scouting (for hip hop artists). There are some good artists, but I don't think they understand that you have to invest in your career.”
Being of Latino decent, AtakOne believes that there is a void for Latino artists in the music industry, and hopes to be an influence on bridging the gap in the untapped mid-west market.
Atlanta producer DJ Plugg says of Atak1, “He got bars! We're gonna turn him up all the way!”
