Everyone said,
don't be a fool, son,
live your life you only get one,
Don't be living for tomorrow,
tomorrow you will come to know,
That life comes once,
and you'll know,
How quickly it goes,
So enjoy it while you can you foolish man.
Everyone must be wrong, I thought,
I saw the things that money bought,
I, Had the will to persevere,
and it was surely worth a few good years,
'Cause life comes once, and could be,
much sweeter for me,
If I only had those things I'd always wanted.
So I worked on my own,
worked my fingers to the bone,
With a view to improving my position,
And the hours of the day,
how they quickly swept away,
In the fires of my burning ambition,
And I never cared about the things I missed along the way,
I could always make up for them,
when I made it someday,
Just a ball of motivation,
with a single destination,
Never slowing till I got where I was going.
Now I'm woking on my own,
on my muscles and my bones,
With a view to improving their positions,
And the hours of the day are just steps along the way,
On the long road to improving my condition,
And I'm buying things to help me swing,
and to help me stand the pace,
I'm applying things to help me keep those wrinkles from my face,
Just a ball of motivation, with a single destination,
Never slowing since I got where I was going.
