Ken Helser and Ann Wallace
What can you do for an encore Jesus?
What's your grandstand play?
What can you do to please the crowds?
How do you make them stay?
Multiplied little fishes
Five loaves you fed to the crowds
When they only wanted you for your miracles
They called you a prophet out loud
What can you do for an encore, Lord?
You set the stage on Calvary's hill
There you made your final bow
But, man makes himself the star of the show
He wants the spotlight now
What more can you do to satisfy?
Only once can you die on a cross
You said "It is finished."
That's a mouth full, a plenty
Lord, you know, I think you've done enough
What can you do for an encore, Lord?
What can you do for an encore, Jesus?
You already raised from the dead
To give new life and a born again heart
Sent the Spirit just like you said...
Tears fill my eyes, when I stop and realize
The world only wants some more
But when you've given your best
And there's nothing left
Why must you give an encore?
