Familiar Faces on the sidelines
At the corner
Watching the world roll on by
Off mainstreet they sit
Watching all that others might miss
There time there own
As they sit and visit together
Only they see each car traveling on
The daily walk of the children from school
The traffic to the stores
The friendships and the battles
Found in any small town today
Feel I should say Hi!
I see them as I go by
Thought I might wave
Yet I dont know their names
There part of the town
Unique in character of remembered treasure for anyone
Who has lived in a small town
That remembers pa**ing by
Familiar faces in the same places
Seeing smiles or frowns
Not really knowing who or why
But recognizing this is home
For the people known
Just on sight
On the sidelines
At the corner
Off of the main street they sit
But there really an important part of it all
In a small town
Where you pa** familiar faces
In the same places
